Katherine + Chris
Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 11:22AM If I had to give my equation for the perfect wedding it would be this: Small chapel + outdoor afternoon reception + guest list of only the closest family and friends + a couple totally smitten with each other + amazing southern foods + stunning cake + great photography = A sweet, intimate, and perfectly lovely wedding!
Katherine chose Lebanon Chapel for her ceremony. It is a small, historic, open air chapel located in Airlie Gardens.

Katherine's dress was made of layers of eyelet lace and we wanted to carry the eyelet idea into the other elements of the wedding. Here, we used a cutter to stamp the edges of the program.

The flower girls were precious. We wrapped thier baskets in small handkerchiefs.
Katherine and her Dad-- so cute!

Katherine and Chris-- so much in love!

The reception was held on the lawn right next to the chapel and Katherine wanted it to feel like an old-fashioned after church picnic, complete with lawn games, lemonade, and picnic-style foods.

Lottie from A Southern Thyme simply has the best presentation and her food is just amazing!!

For the guest book, we wanted to pull in the handkerchief idea again, so we had guests write notes on handkerchiefs and hang them on the line.

The key to having a reception outside in the middle of August is this: cool colors, lots of lemonade, ice cream, and lots of fans! Looking at these photos, it is hard to believe it was over 100 degrees outside!

Since the guest list was so small, only 25 guests, we purchased a small wooden tables and painted them white.

We transported rocking chairs from Katherine's house to make little seating areas in the tent.
Katherine wanted ice cream, which guests loved! We ordered an ice sculpture to keep it cool!

This might just be my favorite cake ever done by Nicki's Cakes-- how gorgeous is this??

And this might be my favorite favor of all time. With an early reception, Katherine wanted guests to have something to snack on during the drive home. We packed sandwiches, bottled drinks, and homemade desserts, wrapped them in a tea towel and tucked them in picnic baskets!

Thanks so much Katherine and Chris for letting us share in your big day! It was the most beautiful afternoon!
