Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 04:15PM What happens when vendors who think a lot alike, who are familiar with working together, who respect each other's quality of work and who are friends even outside of the industry get together to work on a project?
This shoot is a great representation of what happens when you work with the vendors who recommend each other! Thanks so much to the gals from Millie Holloman Photography, Steve Peterson of High Performance Lighting, Flower and Flour for the amazing cake, Lifestage Videography, & Harborside Event Rentals. Special thanks as well to Lindsey for stepping in to be our model. Lindsey formerly worked for Bald Head Island Club and is now joining the Salt Harbor team as a coordinator! Thanks also to her patient husband for letting us drag him into it as well!

Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11:52AM Today we are featured on Style Me Pretty. Millie Holloman Photography and Salt Harbor worked closely to create an Inspiration to Reality shoot straight from the shores of North Carolina. We had so much fun! Click here to view the posts!

Plenty more to come!
Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 04:26PM Today I got a call from the Brooklyn Arts Center in downtown Wilmington. They are currently renovating a 1888 church to be a new event space. I went over to take a look today, and while there is still a lot left to do, the space is going to be simply incredible. It has 50 ft ceilings, a large balcony, foyer, huge windows, exposed brick walls, and tons of character. I was drooling! The new space will be able to hold up to 250 people, and will be available for events in Spring 2011. If you are looking for a space to hold a large number, and the local ballrooms and country clubs are not your style, check out this great new site. Right now, the rental price is a steal! Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10:47PM We have had so many incredible weddings this season, that I simply can't pick a favorite. This one is definitely one of my top three. Clients this year have given us so much freedom, and we have had more fun than ever coming up with new ideas. When Drew and Mandy sat down with me to brainstorm, I knew just what to propose, but I was not sure if they would go for it. They met in the courthouse, working on criminal cases. Drew works for the prosecution and Mandy for the defense. I thought the combo was so great and suggested a clue-themed reception. They jumped at the idea (thank goodness for people who can think outside the box). This is one of the favorites of everyone here at Salt Harbor! The couple was just adorable and their guests had a blast with the theme!
Brent and Amanda of Millie Holloman Photographytook the photographs. They are such an amazing husband/wife team, and their different perspectives make their collective images to unique!
How amazing is the striped tie?!
Ribbon wands were definately huge this season.
One crazy bridal party-- so much fun!
Escort cards were evidence tags. We painted an old door yellow and hung the evidence tags from nails.
Guests were invited to share their "clues to a good marriage!"
We styled each table according to the Clue room. There were more tables than actual board game rooms, so we had to add a few. The team at MHP put together these great collages!
The Billiard Room and Carriage House...
The Den and Library...
The Hall and the Conservatory...
The Ballroom and the Atrium...
The Kitchen...
The Parlor and the Dressing Room...
The Wine Cellar...
The Pantry and the Dining Room...
The Observatory and the Study...
I wanted to work these little pencils in somewhere, so on the back of each menu, we printed a clue word search.
Mandy and Drew love ice cream and when I asked them their favorite ice cream place, they said Cournel Custards! We were so excited that it went to well with our Clue idea!
We styled the photobooth too, creating a mini Clue set. Guest had so much fun acting out their own murder mysteries. And the ring bearer was just precious!
A Pedicab departure!
Thanks so much Mandy and Drew for embracing the Clue idea and trusting us so much!
